How to build stubborn calves
A legendary champion once said that calves were “stubborn monkeys.”
There are several training techniques and programmes which can shock stubborn calves into growth. I recently bumped into a routine recommended by an IFBB champion, who wows the audience every time he flexes onstage.
I have seen a Mr. India winner also recommend a similar training programme to his students.
Week 1: Train calves every day, performing only one exercise (4 sets of 12 reps each).
Week 2: No calf training
Week 3: Train the claves on three non-consecutive days. But, perform five drop sets of 12 reps each (i.e., after performing the first set, reduce the weight four more times, doing 12 reps every time). Altogether, you will be performing a total of 60 reps for the calves.
Repeat the cycle for two or three months.
Try this routine and see if your calves start growing into cows.
